Spice it Up! DIY Wedding Favors
DIY spice favor
Spice it up with DIY wedding favors. I love these. And better yet I love how easy these would be to make. But fear not if you aren't overly crafty these unique wedding favors are actually for sale on Etsy. And considering they come with the adorable chalkboard front, cork tops, and fresh herbs, they are very reasonably priced. Add a tag, and they double as placeholders. Ingenius.
If you are looking to cut costs a cheap wedding favor is to buy cute little glass jars and fill them with herbs, candies, baked goods, bath salts, ect. I would recommend buying your jars wholesale or from a place like Ikea. And jars come in all shapes and sizes. Check out these favors mini glass spice jars from Style Me Pretty. And here's a great post for homemade wedding favors: DIY bath salts from The Broke-Ass Bride.
And why stop at wedding favors? These little gems would be appreciated anytime of the year. Im a big fan of presents for no particular reaon.
In my world I'd probably choose to fill the jars with basil, oregano, or dried parsely. Hard to go wrong with those and I'm sure it has something to do with me being half-Italian.
How about you? What filling would you use? Anyone used this as a favor or gift idea?

What a great idea! I'd probably fill mine with beautiful full-leaf teas, like these!
Love the idea behind your blog, looking forward to more :)
Thanks Kristin! I appreciate it. It has been a plan in the making for a while and I am soooo happy to finally put it all together. Oh and I subscribed to your blog too! :)
Love the blog, Christine! I love the idea too. I think I'd fill jars with lavender since we're getting married on Orcas Island and our colors are lavender and lemon.
yay Abbie! Lavender and lemon sounds like a good topic or an upcoming post!
Congratulations on your first post! Love the look of the blog and the idea in your post! I love the idea of spices...especially if you do a destination wedding and can include a local spice to add some of the surrounding culture to your favors. Thanks for sharing!
Love it! We actually bought wholesale jars for our wedding favors months ago! We were thinking candy but the spice idea is great, thanks Christine!! Yay for this new blog! xo
YAAAY!!! I love it. Congratulations!
@Chelle great idea to use local spices. I like anything that adds a little more of a personal, or cultural touch. @Shauna! Great minds think alike. Love your blog Christine, long overdue but well worth the wait! I love the idea of homemade wedding gifts and even better something we can all use in the kitchen. Do you think I can find these in Peru?!
now this is cute and very unique...the concept is a touch of the spices of our life...very relative...
an eco- friendly wedding favor...this is such a great idea..having this as a favor seems like very apart of our life...it also represents the spices of the newly wed...
